Artcon
Edistys.devArtCon is one of the leading art agencies in Bangladesh, working with both established and emerging artists. They needed a platform that could properly present their exhibitions, collections, publications, and events in one place.
The goal was simple: make the art the focus, and make everything easy to manage for the team.
What the Site Does
The platform covers a lot of ground. Exhibitions, artist profiles, collections, publications, events, and even virtual reality tours of gallery spaces. Each section is structured so visitors can browse by category or explore individual artists and their work.
Stack
SvelteKit handles the frontend. Fast page loads, smooth transitions between sections, and server-side rendering so the content is indexable from the start.
Sanity.io powers the content layer. The ArtCon team manages all their exhibitions, artist profiles, and event listings through the studio. New exhibition? Add the details, upload the artwork images, publish. No developer needed.
Content Model
Art agencies deal with a lot of interconnected content. An exhibition has artists. Artists have artworks. Artworks belong to collections. Publications reference exhibitions and artists.
Each of these is its own document type in Sanity, linked through references. This keeps things organized and means a single artist profile update reflects across every exhibition and collection they appear in.
Image Handling
For a site that's mostly about visual art, image quality and performance had to work together. Sanity's image pipeline handles responsive sizing and format conversion, so high-resolution artwork loads quickly without manual optimization.
Virtual Reality
One of the more interesting features is the VR exhibition tours. Visitors can walk through gallery spaces and view artwork in a 3D environment. This was added to make exhibitions accessible to people who can't visit the physical gallery in Dhaka.
Result
The site gives ArtCon a proper digital presence that matches the quality of the work they represent. The content team runs it independently, and adding new exhibitions or artists is straightforward through the Sanity studio.
